Who is SINCOSS?
The
Social Issues Network Council of Social Services Manawatu (SINCOSS) was
established during the latter part of 1992 as a result of submissions made by a
number of local social services groups concerned with the growing social
problems facing local people.
The central objectives of the SINCOSS are:
-
To
encourage and facilitate coordination and extension of Social Service
agencies for the purpose of achieving effective social services and to act
as a liaison body between member organisations and local and central
government.
-
To
study and encourage the social development of the Manawatu District.
-
To
encourage the interchange and dissemination of ideas, arouse interest and
develop an informed community.
-
To
make new information and advice available to community agencies in the
carrying out of their respective functions, and to encourage the formation
of new agencies where required.
|
|
-
To inform
the public of the aims and purposes of agencies associated with the social
service network and to provide access to appropriate agencies for those
seeking assistance.
-
To
undertake any other activities consistent with these objectives.
|
